AscentInternational School organised a
workshop based on the theme Gender Sensitivity on 15th September,17.
The Vice Principal, Ms. Sudha Vershwal, of the School took it as a prime
responsibility to organize it for school faculty as she was inspired by this
sensitive issue which earlier held in the form of workshop at Kaushalya World
School, organized by CBSE.
This
young generation of the society generally becomes the victim of undesirable
problems which may sometime leads them in isolation. The negligence and
indifferent attitude of the society adds
oil to the fire. To take the issue
sensitively and to understand the
responsibility of good citizens, the workshop on the same theme conducted in
the school so that many more can be educated
about this issue because this is
one of the sensitive issue of the society and it must be handled very minutely
and carefully.
In
was an interactive workshop, including
many of the activities and videos. All the teachers were influenced and excited to be part of this
reciprocal action which widened the scope of enrichment and succeeded in
unleashing the scenario of asperity and contrast.
The
workshop was headed by a team of teachers under the guidance of the V.
Principal with different sorts of
activities and discussion. It was really
good to see that a healthy discussion was started on the importance of gender sensitization. As
School is an integral part of a child’s life where one’s mindsets and attitudes
are leant and shaped, viewing this, the discussion laid stress that children
should be free to choose what they want to become rather than their biological
make-up. It was focused that gender roles are interchangeable so equal
opportunity should be given to individual on equal footing irrespective of
his/her gender. As the need of the hour is that we draw the attention to the centrality of female children in the Indian society, their role cannot be avoided and restricted. Many videos, related to the topic worldwide, were laid out and discussed among teachers. The event gained its height when the Principal, Mr Birendra Bansal, of the school shared his views and appreciated the initiatives and efforts of the participants. Overall the workshop was a successful and enriching experience for all.
